Mama didn't have time to do everything (that sounds familiar), so all the kids were taught to do everything. My pastor is the youngest boy in his family and we've heard several times how his mother required all of the older boys to help with all of the baby girls (changing diapers, washing diapers, feeding, ironing, repairing rips and sewing on buttons, etc.).
